The 2017 healthcare expenditure in MENA wat $255.3 billion.  KSA, Egypt, Algeria, UAE and Morocco comprise 84% of this expenditure. The UAE dominates the commercial and technical energy in the Middle East and North Africa. MEDLAB Middle East, one of the five largest IVD event is the world, is the largest IVD event in MENA.


LatAm - Brazil

Brazil is the largest medical equipment market in Latin America and relies heavily on imports. The US Department of Commerce reports that medical product exports from the United States to Brazil account for 28% of total imports of $10.8 billion. Based on the same report, there is a high demand for innovative products; leading the list are clinical chemistry products.



South Africa: In South Africa, private and public health systems exist in parallel. The wealthiest 20% of the population use the private system and are far better served. In 2005, South Africa spent 8.7% of GDP on health care, or US$437 per capita. Of that, approximately 42% was government expenditure. About 79% of doctors work in the private sector. Over 90% of Africa’s clinical labs are in South Africa

ASEAN leaders have identified healthcare as a priority sector for region-wide integration. From an economic perspective, opening of healthcare markets promises substantial economic gains. Healthcare expenditure per capita in ASEAN is US$ 544, about 4 percent of GDP. Singapore and Brunei top the list with expenditure per capita of US$ 2,273 and US$ 1,449, respectively.


LatAm - Colombia

The Colombian Marketplace relies heavily on imports for its medical equipment, and the US Department of Commerce reports that exports from the United States account for over a third of that value, recently placed at US$ 263.5 million. What’s more, there is also a Free Trade Agreement between the United States and Colombia so nearly all medical equipment exports to Colombia receive duty free treatment.
